What GARPify is — and isn't

GARPify is a publication of Synchronicity Business Coaching Inc. It is impersonal financial research and education, written for a general readership. It is not personalized investment advice, and nothing you read here is a recommendation that any security, strategy or course of action is suitable for you.

We don't know your circumstances — your goals, your time horizon, your tax situation, how much you can afford to lose — and we never will. A report about a company is a report about the company. Whether it belongs in your portfolio, in what size, and at what price is a decision only you can make, ideally with a licensed professional who does know your circumstances.

We are not registered

Neither GARPify nor Synchronicity Business Coaching Inc. is registered with any securities regulator as an investment dealer, portfolio manager, exempt market dealer, investment fund manager or adviser, in Canada, the United States or anywhere else. We are a publisher. We rely on the publisher's exemption available under Canadian securities law for general-circulation publications that do not provide individualized advice.

No ratings, no price targets, no promises

GARPify does not publish buy, sell or hold ratings, and it does not publish price targets. Where a report walks you through turning a company's future profit into a future share price, the inputs are yours and so is the result — we are showing you a method, not making a forecast.

Past performance of any company, sector or strategy is not a guide to future results. Investing involves risk, including the loss of the money you invest.

Where our numbers come from

Every figure in a GARPify report traces to a source you can open yourself: the company's own filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (EDGAR) or the Canadian Securities Administrators (SEDAR+), the company's investor-relations materials, or a data vendor (YCharts). When a vendor and a filing disagree, we use the filing.

Figures are current only as of the date stated on each report. Companies restate, split, acquire and divest; we refresh reports after earnings, but a report you read six months after it was written is six months old. Verify any figure against a current source before acting on it.

We take care to be accurate, and accuracy outranks completeness in how we work. We still make mistakes. If you find one, tell us and we will correct it. We are not liable for errors or omissions, or for any loss arising from reliance on what we publish.

Positions and independence

GARPify is funded by its readers, not by advertisers, and we accept no payment from any company we write about. Our writers and the company's principals may own shares in companies covered by GARPify, and may buy or sell them at any time. We do not trade around our publication schedule.

Companies named on this site are subjects of our research. Naming a company is not a recommendation to buy it.

Third parties

Our reports reference the ideas of well-known investors and authors for educational purposes. None of them is affiliated with GARPify, and none has reviewed or endorsed our work. Trademarks belong to their owners.
